The national teachers tournament kicked off today at Agoro Sare highschool. Twenty nine teams take part in the tournament fifth edition.
The teams are pooled in 7 groups. Top two teams and two best losers qualify for knockouts.

The tournament started in 2018, hosted in western region, with Kakamega emerging champions. In 2019, Coast region held the tournament, Kwale winning the crown. The event didn't take place in 2020 and 2021 due to COVID-19.
Kwale retained their title in 2022, held in Rift valley, while Mt. Elgon won last year event held at Central Kenya.
Mount Elgon will be seeking to defend their title.
