World Rally Championship points leader Kalle Rovanperä has rolled out of first place on the eighth stage of Rally Finland.

The Toyota driver ended up on his roof almost seven miles into the second pass of Myhinpää, damaging the rear-left of his GR Yaris Rally1.

Both he and co-driver Jonne Halttunen were able to get out of the car unaided, and the stage did not need to be stopped.

Team-mate Elfyn Evans lost time as he had to slow down when he want past Rovanperä’s car, but he did inherit the rally lead from him.

Thierry Neuville is now second, 2.4s ahead of Takamoto Katsuta.
