Naivas open gap, Mathare and Nairobi United falter
Naivas FC put themselves in a pole position to clinch the National Super League (NSL) title and earn subsequent promotion to the second tier with a 4-1 win over Mombasa Stars on Saturday.
Naivas FC defeated Kisumu All-Stars 2-0 at Moi Stadium in Kisumu. Second half goals from Starboy Robert Karisa and Francis Nambute were enough to put the retailers three points from second place Mathare United.
Mathare United's 2-1 win over Kajiado on Saturday had briefly brought the two sides level on 46 points.
At Awendo, Mara Sugar promotion hopes continue to dwindle after they were held to 1-1 draw by MCF, despite taking an early lead through David Owino.
Silibwet kept their hopes alive with a crucial win against struggling Gusii.
